Interesting that tonights top news stories are also the Top Trending topics on Summize. Sure tweeps are constantly blasting out short blurbs of everyday news events, but take a look at the second to last list item. Yep, Fox’s television show Hell’s Kitchen.
I cant say Ive really ever noticed television shows in top tweet topics, though I am sure there are some pretty popular shows that have made the list. But is Hell’s Kitchen really that popular or are there some serious tweeps tweeting?
The mother of all trending, Google Trends, trending data is 45mins stale by the time you drop your query, Whereas Summize is just 30 seconds from tweet time. Checking in on Googles Trend data didnt even have Hillary or Clinton in the trends at all for the day.
Can that be right?
Today’s televised top news stories were all those which had been twittered in my time line today. Even the Mexico Bike accident was on my local news channel! Maybe that says something for my local news
Are Twitters “massively shared experiences” currently replacing existing means of news delivery? Could i be a threat to large media companies in that consumers will share a spread ‘the news’ faster than they can?
