News reports are flying in from all angles regarding what is currently going on with Apples iPhone 3G. Here is a quick hit list for those of you who are just waking up trying to get a grip with the reality that is iPhone 3G:

1. Lots of People are getting iPhones with both AT&T and Apple Stores Packed
   • All stores had people camping in line
   • Locations not prepared for such early lines
   • Doors opened Friday July 11th at 8am
2. Turns out “Being iReady” was easier said than done right now for Apple
   • Issues with Existing iPhone user Plans
   • Aprox 12:00PM EST, Global Server Crash prevents phone activations
   • Sales process ranging from 10mins to 45mins (Greet to Talking on Phone).
     - Cases with server downtime currently unknown.
     - Cases were customer sent home to activate currently unknown.
     
3. Confusion with Activation vs Sync/Restore
   • iPhone Customers and Sales Reps seem to be either misinformed on what takes place in the store vs at home. Activation in the store is simple as pie, not requiring anything from you other than your account, iPhone 3G gets instantly activated. Once you get home you just need to re-store to sync you existing phones contacts/pics/ect
   • Some Customers left store without phone activated, which was improper.
4. Itunes 7.7 Upgrades required
   • Once arriving home with your new iPhone 3G you’re forced to update iTunes to the latest 7.7 which is ready for the 3G device.
   • Heavy server loads hinder Customer upgrades.
5. Thumbs up from those who’ve successfully completed the challenge
   • 3G Speed, confirmed fast
   • Google Maps GPS, confirmed amazing
   • Still many items on the wishlist from iPhone users
   • Improved speaker quality
